Cedar Counseling & Wellness

Carrie Nicholes, LCSW-C

(she/her)

Licensed Clinical therapist

I am a clinical therapist, licensed in Maryland and Washington DC, as well as a certified yoga teacher.

Coming to therapy can be a little intimidating, so my first goal is to establish a connection that puts you at ease. My down-to-earth approach won’t feel stuffy or overly clinical, but you’ll still leave with a toolkit full of skills to lead a more fulfilling and satisfying life. I’m passionate about helping young adults and adults manage anxiety, reduce stress, and cultivate healthier relationships, starting with your relationship with yourself.

I offer complimentary 15-minute consultations and am available to connect via emailphone,  or you can schedule an appointment at the link below.

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, even paralyzing. My goal is to teach you to make small, impactful changes that will help you rise above anxiety.

Self-Compassion

You have it in you to be compassionate with others, but you’re having a hard time believing you deserve that same measure of kindness and encouragement.

Self-Worth

Somewhere along the way, you lost sight of your worth and confidence. You know your negative self-talk is hurting you, but you’re not sure how to shift your perspective.

My Approach

My approach is all about discovering your resilience and helping you bloom. I believe in empowering my clients with practical tools and knowledge in a nurturing, non-judgmental environment. I’m warm, yet direct, and love working with people who are ready to make lasting changes.

I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, focusing on overall wellness. I incorporate elements of mindfulness, deep relaxation techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and a strengths-based approach into my practice.
