Julia Oliver, RD, RYT

Julia is a licensed dietitian and registered yoga teacher who has spent her career empowering individuals to heal their relationship with food and movement by providing an alternative to the damaging diet mentality. She has advanced training in eating disorder nutrition therapy for both adult and adolescent populations, and her work with all clients utilizes a blend of intuitive eating, Health at Every Size, attuned movement, and mindfulness techniques.

 

With Julia, you can expect to learn the side of nutrition science that the latest ‘wellness’ article doesn’t share, and you will be guided to dig deep to find the internal body cues that many of us have become disconnected from since early childhood. Based on the evidence that diets will fail for the vast majority of people and the observation that dieting attempts only result in a lingering, toxic mixture of self-degradation and guilt...It is time for a new approach, and a new wave of dietitians and medical professionals are jumping aboard. We will guide you to let go of rule-based eating and exercise and instead reclaim the connection to your body’s innate wisdom.

MY APPROACH

I consider myself to be the dietitian you can actually connect with and trust. Beyond just meal planning and nutrition education, I will take care in meeting you where you are and address your eating and movement challenges with compassion and tailored interventions.

My weight-inclusive, non-diet approach will give you the space you need to reconnect with your body’s innate wisdom and the skills to pursue an intuitive relationship with food and movement.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE
  • I grew up in Southwest Virginia where cows practically outnumber the people

  • I paired my nutrition degree with a minor in piano performance 

  • You can find me snowboarding with my family almost every weekend in the winter

  • My husband and I make all of our own pasta, we were inspired after traveling to Italy for our honeymoon
